The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has taken leads in all the 26 parliamentary constituencies in Gujarat, the home-turf of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party president Amit Shah.Shah made his debut in Lok Sabha election from Gandhinagar, a seat previously held by BJP veteran leader LK Advani. He is leading in Gandhinagar with over 3.27 lakh votes against Congress' CJ Chavda.
Counting for the 26 Lok Sabha seats in Gujarat begun at 8 am on Thursday. In Gujarat, 371 candidates were in the fray. The main battle in Gujarat was between BJP and Congress. However, it was a clean sweep for the saffron party in Gujarat.
The key constituencies in Gujarat are Ahmedabad East, Ahmedabad West, Amreli, Anand, Banaskantha, Bardoli, Bharuch, Bhavnagar, Chhota Udaipur, Dahod, Gandhinagar, Jamnagar, Junagadh, Kachchh, Kheda, Mahesana, Navsari, Panchmahal, Patan, Porbandar, Rajkot, Sabarkantha, Surat, Surendranagar, Vadodara and Valsad.
